One of the best DOS games ever? Probably! Released as the long-awaited follow up to iD Software's classic DOOM, Quake had high expectations. In most ways, I think it met them. Or at least it met mine. It added fully 3D levels, cool new weapons and enemies, and ultra-fast frantic gameplay. And a lot of the color brown. I have spent many hours playing this classic, and still go back to play it sometimes. If you have never played it ... get it now! With the release of Quake, iD Software once again revolutionized the 3D shooting genre. It's great, even today!
