EGArace

Post by Thunderdog »

There was an old Racing game on my 286 years ago. It had EGA graphics (hence the name) and there was 4 human controlled cars, with diffirent keys The red car used the Arrows for movement, the yellow car used the Right side of the keyboard, I think.. There was 2 other colored cars. All of the Computer controlled Cars we're colored Cyan. All I can remember, is that the .exe was egarace. It'd be nice to relive some memories of my Early-childhood for once.

Dear Thunder

Yes! I know this game! I have been searching long and hard for it.

The tracks were red walls and black track area, and different shapes, and you could play 4 people at once, all on the keyboard, it was really squishy though!
If you crashed, you had to wait for your helicopter to fly across the screen over you and give you repairs.

You got a certian amount of points or money at the end of each race and could buy tyres, acceleration, top speed or helicopter which made your helicopter fly past faster so you didnt have to wait so long when you crashed.

This game was AWESOME totally rocked my world.

It was a birds eye kind of view, so you just saw the top of your car, kind of like micro machines games these days. But the track was only once screen size, so it was static.

There was also a create your own track feature, and you could plot the paths that the computer cars drove in, so you could make em just go round and round in circles and you'd win easily. Mehehe

Just wanted to let you know that I too, love it, and am searching for it.

Any information anyone has on this game would be awesome, I only remember it as "race" and we played it on an old 286 or 386 at school and at home. I was playing it in the early 1990's though I'd say it was written ealier.

This is all I can remember, please, if you remember it, have seen it, anything, post here.

Top-down EGA graphics, PC speaker sound. And, I believe stunts was a 3D Game, so I strongly doubt that's it.
