Can't open saved games
Can't open saved games
I've joined, but don't have my confirmation email yet, but I guess it's OK to post anyway.
I have the old Dune game (have the CD....Cryo Entertainment, Virgin Games 1993 edition). For what it's worth, I've also been through most of the Myst/Riven series, and think I'd enjoy Dune. However, I can't seem to find any kind of menu to Save or to open a Saved game. I notice it's saving automatically when I check the folder, but in a format I can't read. Does anyone know how to access a Save / Open Saved Game menu for Dune? Right now, I have to start at the beginning every time.
By the way, I do like a lot of the old DOS games, and have several. I just can't figure out this one. Thanks for any help....

It's actually simple(but hard to guess ) Go to the palace, enter the bedroom-like room and look at the mirror, that's your save/load point!

If I'm understanding this right, I still have to go through the whole introduction and go to the bedroom mirror to open a saved game, as well as go back to the palace whenever I want to save it during play. Do I have that right? (by the way, whenever I get my confirmation email and finish registering, my username will be Mystified)......

Hi.
You can skip the introduction by keeping pressing "Escape". There are two ways to load or save:
1:
- Go to the Carthag Palace.
- Go to the room with the mirror.
- Choose "LOOK AT MIRROR".
- You can now save or load the game.
2:
- When you are in the game, choose "SEE DUNE MAP".
- Click on the globe at the bottom-left of the screen.
- You can now save or load the game.
By using the second way you do not have to go back to the room with the mirror.
