FUNNIEST THING EVER!!
I totally agree with the guy.
I play the violin, and have played the damn song way too much!

Hilarious.
"Punk music is a joke, it's really just baroque"
Ha...good line.

I've never had to play that piece of music, but the video supports what I've been saying for years and the whole thing isn't at all surprising since very few 'pop starts' actually write their own music, it's all getting written by the same unoriginal uncreative jackasses.

Haha thats pretty good. I'd noticed a few of those before, especially Green Day's Basketcase, cuz that one's fairly obvious. :D

Yea he kinda fudged a few of those. There's probably better examples but I guess he had to try to choose songs that the average Joe could easily identify.

Heh, I've noticed this with other songs... not necessarily Cannon in D, but, for example, listen to "Lust For Life" by Iggy Pop. That opening bass line has been used in SOOOOO many songs over the past 40 years, it's not even funny. (For example, see "are you going to be my girl?" by Jet. Scary)

Some other examples that come to mind:

The Raconteurs - Level
sounds an awful lot like
Black Sabbath - Sweet Leaf

and a rather obvious one:

The Offspring - Why Don't You Get a Job
is pretty much exactly
The Beatles - Obla Di Obla Da

B) Any other examples?

Edit: Oh yeah! This is more sampling than "sounds-alike", but Chemical Brothers' Setting Sun uses the drumbeat from the Beatles' Tomorrow Never Knows. I guess if yer gunna rip off or sample another band, ya might as well rip off / sample the best! :)

Yeah some people seem ‘creative’ enough to change a note or two.
