Which Atari 2600 game should i get. I can go to a store that sells many Atari 2600 games for very cheap and i have over 100 legit games for it. I also have the original copies of breakout, super breakout, centipede, milipede and asteroids. I have different versions of most of the games. I want to get another Atari 2600 game. I want to know what you reccomend. I only have a problem with one game. On Breakout if i go to hard than when i go back to easy it is still on hard. I than have turn the game off and turn the game back on to be able to get back to easy.

.......Well abwace sais "me " I say go and buy a Ebay Atari 2600 bundle
wrapped in box new but differnt titles for like $ to $$ but get three differnt titles not to advertize ebay illegaly but they have these bundles of atari 2600 games three differnt titles for $$ and $$$ I cant " prices but I saw asteroids missile command and moonpatrol all in one acution new in box wrapped in new plastic seranshrinkwrap... this looked to be a good deal.
even if they were opened once to check if good then reshrinkwraped they are still NEW in box and the box must be in good shape to be
shrink wrapped still.
anyway I wouuld recomend that for collecting but for playing get pitfall II
on the second wave in the middle of the bottom stay sbove the water get back on 1st platform on bottom then goto inside middle then jump notice you can jump higher then you can get ballon. then you can get to next level get the kangaroo man near start bell X then get muskrat rat then get diamond if you get all 3 of these a door openes you goinside then it loads a new rom from a nother rom into a nother ram spot in a rom and you get to play new level LEAVE power on takes 3 days to get there and I dont know to finish level II cause I always lose life before gettig to next level in that game its fun though . a nother fun atari game is space invaders.. asteroids circus atari ! daves midnight magic pinball is cool too.
original frogger is fun . good luck.

1 Atari 2600 Archiving to rom from Tape or back up or making youre own.
2 Making youre own carts from scratch using old Atari cartridiges cases.
3 cookie monster crunch I saw a Ebay auction for the whole instructions .
and the whole box and whole keypad too the whole auction had all needed
to run game including original instruction cards this would help in youre child learning how to use the learning game..
as far as programing from a EE-PROM burner to a copy to a copy.
you must choose read store then 13 minnutes for erase time 13-30 minnutes i choose 30 minnutes then let cool!!! very important to let chip cool.
let chip stay away from sunlight... once the sun comes up its to late.
then easy get a atari Age or Atari age forum person to sell you a blank.
cart/board w 74ls???? chip already stuffed w game on it then 1st copy game to make shure you are good w youre burner then once that works copy game 1st to make 1 back up copy or hacked game then erase original then send original BLANK chip designed to run the cart you just bought w youre hackomaticII game you just modified to run on chip. goto geocities.com/pacmame32/files/pp to find hackomatic II or request me to have it on p mame 3 2 site gecoties site to let you download it on request. due to bandwidth restrictions the site it down you might beable to download it w out contacting me witch i suggest you do then after hackomatic then you can burn youre own atari custom new hack version games. good luck and remember to change the game name the graphics and try to change the game play if possible as we know hackomatic only changes graphics and you need to know programing to change game play.
4. as far as cookie monster crunch sounds like a fun game.
as far as post original to stick w topic I like Snoopy and the red baron but only in emulation on a smaller toshiba laptop becasue the screen looks so cool.

Old thread, I know... but the only games you need for non-stop fun on the Atari2600 would probably be:

1. Chopper Command
2. Kaboom
3. Breakout
4. Pressure Cooker
5. Planet Patrol
6. Gangster Alley
7. ET
8. Solar Fox
9. Gorf (though I suppose it's not a long game, and it does get old after a while)

You seem to have forgotten some 200-300 good games on the Atari.

And as I also forgot them, I cant post them.

But anyway, Yeeehaw for the emulators.

I would try to find Pitfall II its fun and you can catch rides on ballons if you wait in the tall cave to the left of the super long down latters then if you make it all the way back up near the start then get the DUDE standing there then the muscrat then go back and if you fall right to the left in the long cave or mabie its to the right you open a new door to a 2nd level where the frogs move

Ahh.... I still remember the game. Probably the coolest Atari game I've ever play, simply for the theme.

The following are my suggested list, by the way:

Bank Heist. The game is Pacman-alike, but I find it more addicting than Pacman.

Pitfall and Adventure, but it's probably just me loving exploration game.

Combat. You'll find quite varying gameplay in one package: tank, biplane, jet aircraft.

Missile Command. Still addicting despite its simple gameplay.

River Raid.
