So what did you do during the Olympics

Till yesterday it's been colder n'hell so I was watching the Olys and missing all the fake TV garbage. US did right OK and the Canuks are having a very decent Games, too. Recorded the majority of the whole thing as I love real people, doing real things, loosing and winning on their own merits, script be damned. Not Hollywood is SOOOOO refreshing! B)

So how many of you were drooling over the cute skaters and skiers?? Let's find out.... :)

For the most part I forgot it was on. I saw bits of the ice hockey, a bit of one of the aerial skiing events and some of the bob sled but not much else. Oh I did catch a small section of the opening ceremony, there was a Ferrari doing donuts in the middle of the arena for 5 minutes, didn’t seem like there was much point to it other then to show some Italian pride or whatever.

I didn't see one lick of the olympics.

But I do recall Sinister saying to me he was watching, like women's hockey and one Canadian chick just totally plowed one other chick. Then we went onto a very heated discussion involving much confusion about Canadian women, somehow involving Julie124, but that was far back, beyond what my short term memory can handle.

Swift, I don’t remember any heated discussions, or where Julie came into it. Meh I do tend to talk to you late at night, if I weren’t so lazy I’d just look up the chat logs.

I love to rain on parades, I don't care much about the Olympics anymore, too much commercialism and sponsorship now and this ruins the whole aspect of non-professional sports competitions

*psst* I overplayed a bit o' what I said, like the heated discussion, I think I said something.... Like.... After that one woman plowed the other one I think I said "them're fierce up here!" and got Julie involved...... I forget now.

I watched the hockey, the figure skating, and a couple curling games.
I didn't watch the final hockey game, because I lost interest when Russia was pumpled.
And I didn't finish the figure skating because I was busy.

Though it was an interesting time, these games.

You didn’t miss much in the hocky CM, I watched the final and Finland were playing great for the first period then I don’t know what happened, they weren’t exactly playing badly for the second or third but much more… uninspired then they had been.

TSM: Yeah, I heard who won.
Good for them, though. It *was* Sweden, right?

Indeed it was, if my friend Elina didn't have the flu she might have cared that Finland lost.

22/02/2006 1:19:48 AM Captain Harlock : XD
22/02/2006 1:19:48 AM Captain Harlock : nice............
22/02/2006 1:19:50 AM Troubled is the mindset… : haha Sweeds just scored
22/02/2006 1:20:00 AM Captain Harlock : them're vicious around here.
22/02/2006 1:20:05 AM Troubled is the mindset… : The Canadian chick got sent off
22/02/2006 1:20:07 AM Captain Harlock : Don't go by what Julie says
22/02/2006 1:20:17 AM Captain Harlock : heh. *cackles evily*
22/02/2006 1:20:28 AM Troubled is the mindset… : Wait, say that again I missed it
22/02/2006 1:21:01 AM Captain Harlock : say what again?
22/02/2006 1:21:20 AM Troubled is the mindset… : I think Canada just won

22/02/2006 1:21:33 AM Troubled is the mindset… : What are you on about?
22/02/2006 1:21:41 AM Captain Harlock : women, in Canada.
22/02/2006 1:21:48 AM Captain Harlock : Don't go by what Julie says!
22/02/2006 1:22:00 AM Troubled is the mindset… : And what is it that Julie says?
22/02/2006 1:22:54 AM Captain Harlock : *shrugs* Iunno, she probably isn't the best representation of a Canadian woman. Though of course I'm kidding, you know that.
22/02/2006 1:23:34 AM Troubled is the mindset… : Yeah I was going to say, it would be good if Julie was a representation of Canadian women, she's heaps nice, I talk to her on MSN all the time
And that's the end of that chapter.

I watched quite a bit of it actually. Got ticked off with Canada's men's team playing horribly, then let my friend in Australia know that we lost, cause she says no one really cares where she is. Could just be her though.

Got into the shorttrack and longtrack speedskating, it was pretty neat.

It did and many of us thought the woman was in bad shape. But she took a second, told her partner to help her up and finished the routine... to a standing ovation. The medicos found a deep bone bruise and she couldn't continue well enough in the next part of the skate comp. Very heroic performer.

Joh, when they spoke of the "hurting" they were talking about the bobsled crashes....unless that's what you're talking about, and I'm just not aware that "skate" is part of the bobsled vocab.
