when i was about 8 or 9 there was a game i played were you walked through towns and stopped to talk to people to find clues about certain place like in italy or the golden gate bridge can anybody help me

'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?'

Not sure what version of the game you played (it has been rereleased a few times), but they all follow that same theme.
