Merit's Galactic Reunion Help

I want to play this game, i have the cd with me, but im having troubles when trying to play it, i have windows XP and some other hardwares that i dont think are compatible with IBM, so i cant play it anymore.
If someone know how to fix this problem, plz post it here, and tell me what i have to do to make it playable
