Prince of Persia 2 problem

I downloaded Prince of Persia 2 and started the game and it seemed to run fine but when the person starts talking he suddendly stops but the music continues and it ends and the game is stuck on the same screen. I pressed enter but nothing happened. The game just stuck there. I pressed Control + Alt + Delete to get out of there. Windows was running fine. I thought it was a minor glitch and restarted the game sometime later but the same thing happened. This was a fresh-first time download and I never encountered a problem like this before. I need some help.
Thanks in advance

But did you run it in pure DOS? Did you configure the sound and music device properly?

Some GameMaster...
What operating system do you have? What sound card?

Master of games, not the installation.

Hey, nobody's perfect.
OS: Win95
Sound card: Not sure. Either Soundblaster or Soundblaster Pro.

You shouldn't need DOSBox then.
To verify which sound card you have, go to Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager and check under "Sound and game controllers".
To run in pure DOS, reboot your PC, press F8 during startup, just before Windows begins to load. You should get a menu. Select "Command prompt only".
I sure hope you know how to use DOS to navigate between directories and launch programs...
Anyhow, try running the game from pure DOS.
You can also try to load the game's Setup.exe (there should be something like this) and making sure that the sound is configured properly. At the very worst, try without sound first to see if you can get it to work at all.

.
Under sound devices it says:
Cystral PnP Audio System CODEC
Also on the taskbar next to the clock there is a blue icon and when I put my mouse over it, it says:
Crystal SRS 3D Audio.
My computer doesn't verify the sound card I have, just the software.
Well anyway will it work if I opened a DOS prompt from windows, made it full screen, and typed in the command? I am trying to refrain from restarting the computer because every time I try to shut down or restart my computer it freezes and I have to turn it off manually.

Get yourself there and download the free home edition, it works under all windows and you will know what hardware / software there is in your PC.
It will even benchmark your pc, if you wish so.

Thanks a lot. When I tried to download it, my downloader program
(Real Download) crashed and my computer displayed a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death).
I tried running POP2 from a DOS window but it doesn't do anything.

You have stated somewhere here on the site you use IE 5 , why don't you download with that one ?
You can't blame me if you use a program called 'real download'.
Get your stuff right before complaining about a BSOD.
Lavalys is a widely known professional site.

I wasn't exactly blaming you. And I wasn't complaining. We shall discuss this matter later and more physically outside.
Anyways, what do you mean by downloading with IE 5? Internet Explorer is a web browser, not a download program.

It will be the same as running the game by double-clicking its program icon, or whatever method you've been using to run it.

Is "Prince of Persia" free- or shareware? And where can I download it?
Best regards
