I've noticed a few other similar threads about this game. allow me to describe it:

Facts:

-I purchased the game around 1993 (guess) I purchased it at the same time i Purchased Hugo's house of horror.

**THE GAME IS NOT HUGO'S HOUSE OF HORROR**

-It was a Dos Game.
-there was very little movement; you would "click" on objects and "click" to move around the world. IE: still graphics, very little motion.
-Blue graphics (vague. lame graphics. they were almost like "drawings" BUT DON'T TAKE THIS LITERALLY. THIS IS VERY VAGUE IN MY MIND!)
-1st person view (you don't see the character)
-it's a haunted house
-you find and pickup objects a bucket(I THINK) matches, lantern
-there was a scary wolf/dog that would kill you upon sight. (NOT to be confused with the dog from hugo's house of horror)
-two little girl twins (vaguely remember this)
-you picked up a book of matches... I think
-there was a grave digger. i'm unsure how you interacted with him.

I realize this description is very vague. from what i understand it was a rare game, since i've been able to find other games. oh how i wish i knew the bloody name!

thanks, for anyone with insight

One topic is enough, Mikey D.

I still don't know in this topic!

Hmmn, sounds awfully like Shadowgate, which I have, but some of the things don't match, so I'm thinking Uninvited, which was made by the same company, but I've never played (dosbox is too slow for me and I'm looking for the NES version). Also try Deja Vu, in the same style. I think they are all available at http://www.the-underdogs.org, except for Shadowgate, which there is still a windows version for sale (which is the version I bought).

edit: I just found that there was a windows version on there, under docs/extras on the game page. I'm playing it, and it appears to fit your description.

michael,

I was doing a google search for the precise game you are looking for. Even though I haven't found it yet, it's refreshing to know that it wasn't just a figment of my imagination.

I remember the blue graphics (I used to think they were so hi-tech back then!) Also, I remember picking up the objects and the gravedigger, wolf, etc. The part with the two twin girls always scared me as a child. I remember they were blonde and you had to pick from several doors in a hallway upstairs. I always tried to avoid picking the one with the two girls because they would stop playing their game of pattycake and suddenly their faces would come right up to the screen and kill you. I think they had vampire teeth. Anyway, if you've discovered the title of this game, please let me know!!!

Try this: http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=1207. I'm fairly certain that this is it.

Dammit, I have played this game, but cannot help you. It REALLY freaked me out when I was younger though: I thought it was basically impossible. Everywhere I went it was as if I met a new creature to kill me. Those twins were really freaky though.

Good call Mingy Jongo ... I would've never thought of that game ... but that does seem to fit the description ... there was also a NES version made of that game (Uninvited) I think.

Michael & to whom it concerns:

Lucky for me, my brother has a perfect memory. He informed me that the name of the game is "The Last Half of Darkness!" I did a search with this title and ta-da, we have a winner!!! I see that there is a newer, updated version of the game now. But I'd rather play the original version for the nostalgia of it. Anyway, I hope that you guys see this reply so you can get some rest now. If you were that worried about it. Mystery solved!
