I get this message every time i try ro run my game, help would be much appreciated

"my game" as in "I wrote the game"? Then it's your own fault, program it better.

That looks like you might have corrupted XP/DOS configuration files.
I've never dealt with them specifically before so I'm not sure how to help you with those in particular, unless you reformat and reinstall Windows thus resetting them back to their default settings.

The next will give you max dos support on XP, but you should mention what game you trying to run, most dosgames won't run directly on XP.
put your XP setup cd in your cd drive and use the 'start' run command:
expand x:\i386\config.nt_ c:\windows\system32\config.nt
expand x:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
expand x:\i386\command.co_ c:\windows\system32\command.com
Between the _ and the c there is a space ! The x is your cd drive.
It is possible you will have to repeat this after a microsoft update....
