has she tried pulling it up from the bottom of the screen

If you can see part of it try rolling the mouse over it and clicking then drag up.

Once you get it back, maybe you can:
richtclick on it and select "lock toolbar".
That will prevent it to disappear.

It is there, it's just hidden off screen.
Try again what wally said:
lower you mouse pointer calmly to the bottem, when it changes to arows click left and hold ,pull your mouse up and the taskbar will re-apear.
It's just as you should want to resize a window.

Winger: Sounds like a virus or someone has played a late april fools trick on your friends computer.

Might be wise to do a virus or spyware check on it.

There excist a taskbar repair program:

I never had to use it , so you're on yourself with this one.

Could be a problem with explorer.exe? That's what shows the Taskbar, yea? You may wanna try System File Checker if none of the above stuff works (try that stuff first):

Be careful which files you replace using this! :o :shifty:

Whenever I exit explorer on my 98, the motion icons stop moving and the taskbar reappears onto my screen. It also has a nifty little arrow that tells me where to click. You can do this through the task manager, or ctrl+alt+delete.

Hey Wally, where did you get that tight picture of Jack Burton/MacReady/Col. Jonathan 'Jack' O'Neil of Stargate/Wyatt Earp/Elvis? I don't know who he is though and it's driving me crazy. I alson heard that he did the voice of Elvis in Forest Gump. I think his first name is like Kent or Kevin or something.

Hark! A little spirit whispers something to my soul... what is it!? Spit it out, spirit! Ahhh, two resonating letters... "P" "M." -Dogbreath
