Looking for a game (vague description)

A very old RPG I dont know whether it was a DOS game or maybe even atari.
It played in europe around 1400, and one could make a party of several characters.
It was not entirely fantasy but mainly encounters that were normal to the middle ages (like robber barons and the like) although some witch coven that summoned devils could also be encountered...
Unique to the game was the many different saint one could ask for help and pray to for specials (Spells and the like)
I cant remember the name of the game and I lost my copy of it Including the books I think the title of the gam had something with DARK in it...
Does anyopne know this game please let me know
