old space platform game

Ok, can't remember much but here goes. On one level you start on top of these rocks and you sort of jump down them and shoot things which sort of look like rail worms (machines), with a reddish background... you used to have to jump up onto platforms a fair bit and there was this big machine at the end you had to fight.

You were wearing a futuristic sort of looking space suit with a silver big space gun.

Not much help i know but surely someone out there has played it. (Can't even remember what type of computer I had it on)

It's not one of the Apogee games, is it? Duke Nukem 1 or 2, Bio Menace, or Halloween Harry/Alien Carnage, perhaps?

Yes I remember playing a game of this description I played it on the old Amstrad 64 computers. Ithink it mighthave been programmed by Codemasters,But like you I cant begin to remeber the name but I was playing about 1986 -1987 If thas any Help
