Well, I run it with VDSM, and when it loads up, it says "Runtime error 005 at 0002:3F40"

I've read around that games show the same error, but with 200 which means it's running too fast. I tried to see if maybe slowing it down would solve the problem, but it didn't, and I still got the same 005 error. And I don't think dosbox works with Tyrian properly, does it?

Yea, I got that too when trying to play Tyrian on XP. And DosBox is really crappy, the games are so incredibly slow, and when I speed it up, it is lagging unbearably.

i have the same error message and i would love to play tyrian again so if anyone has found any sort of solution for this that would be great.

check the file attributes of all files.

Damn how many people are there who are too stupid to configure dosbox...
