It is a 100% text based DOS game (not even text-based graphics, only descriptions..). I played it 12-15 years ago so late 80's early 90's. You wake up in a room in a mansion or castle with a large (random) word written on the wall. You could go upstairs and find a room with 2 tigers or lions that you had to play a musical instrument to put them to sleep. Also upstairs was a room lined with guilt, and the air was heavy with guilt so you couldn't stay long. If you ever got lost you could just say the word from the first room and it would transport you back to the original room. You could make your way outside, but if you stepped too far into the forest you would be SOL. I never completed the game but I would just frickin die if someone could find the name.
Btw, judging from other posts, and trying suggestions I don't think it is "Last half of darkness" or "castle adventure" or "adventure".
It is 100% text description. You basically wander around trying to find a way to escape.. and I think you end up learning spells but I never made it that far. Any help, please!!!
Maze-type game, start in castle or mansion
