please give me advice for XP [Keen Dreams]

i've tried running keen dreams a few times but i got the error that said The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. so i downloaded DOSBox and type in like kdreams.exe, start.exe and it still wont run
help please.... i'm new at this
......

i've downloaded dosbox but i dont know how to use it .........i'm new to all this... PLEASE HELP

how do u use dosbox

Ok
In this the game name will be 'keen7' and i will be placing the games in the directory c:\games
Type in dosbox
Mount c c:\games - This mounts your games folder which originates onto the c:\
then type c:\
Now you should see c:\ come up.
Then cd keen7
and then finally start.exe
