supaplex running troubles

hey, i just downloaded and unzipped Supaplex on dosgamesonline.com, and i'm having troubles installing it... when i want to run "install.exe" it says that i can't use this in ms dos or windows... is it because it's an old game, i guess?

please help me, i want to play again this game i used to play all day long! :cry:

PS: sorry if my message appears twice, i don't know how to edit and i made a mistake.. sorry

Hmm.. Does it say stuff about autoexec.nt and config.nt?

you mean in the supaplex folder?

huh, there's no ".nt" file... i guess that's a bad thing..?

oh, by the way... before downloading supaplex on dosgamesonline.com i took the one on dosgamesarchive.com or something, but when i saw it didn't work i deleted it and got the other one, on dosgamesonline, so... maybe in the first i had there was those files you were talking about, cuz there wer few different things... hmm :huh:

wow, 3 posts in line...

okay, now i see what you were talking about... yeah, when i try to run the game, it mentions (sorry if that's the wrong word, i'm not anglophone..) the file c:/windows..something...autoexec.nt .... and then..?

okay... now, sorry for the ones that i disturb with my 659830 messages in line, but...

i found on this topic ( http://p076.ezboard.com/fmysteriosupapl ... =209.topic ) that i can't play in win xp... arghhh! :Angry: so.... it is completely impossible for me to play if i have windows xp...? there's no way...? someone? :shame: :(

You can play supaplex in Xp of course you can!!

http://dosbox.sourceforge.net - x86 emulator which is quite simple to use now.

I will fix the other board

huuuuuh... so, what do i have to do? download "DOSBox version: 0.60" ? (i went in games index-->supaplex)

i'm not sure of really understanding what i have to do and what this program does... :huh:

i installed the x86 emulator... i run it, and.. then? i don't know how it works... pleeeeeease help me i wanna play supaplex again!! :shame:

well
Dosbox works like this
mount c c:\[game location here]
Its probably best to put the game into c:\ on your computer as in c:\supa.

Before you do this open dosbox.conf

look for CPU CYCLES=XXX (X represents speed)
change to 10000
and then enter dosbox again

alright... i can't open dosbox.conf ... i says i don't have the program for it...

i guess i should forget supaplex =(

Good to hear you can play it now, Supaplex is a very good game :thumbsup:

@Wally: I thought you could also use DosBox without doing this:

Why does it needs to be changed to 10000?

Most games run better emulated at 10000 cycles.

95% of my games were tested and worked on 10000 cycles (including Skunny Karts, Supaplex)

They work great!

Hmz... I always press CTRL + F12 for that, or is that something else?

thats the same but to save time you set the cycles change the dosbox.conf file
