Old game, possibly called "After Dark"...

Ok, so there was this game I had once upon a time, that freaked me out when I was little... it was set in like a haunted mansion or something, and you had to search around the house for clues to a puzzle which would get you out of the house.

My dad thinks it's called "After Dark", but I'm not sure... has anyone heard of this game?

Im sure its this game but you had to go outside some times..

or it could have been maniac mansion

Yeah, I think Last Half Of Darkness is it... the screen shot looks familiar. Although, I did watch my cousin play it for me for like 2 minutes before I ran from the room screaming...

I used to be scared of this game too where as things just popped up outta no where.

For example the snake in the filing cabinet
