DOS Games Discussion

I recently found my old Novastorm original CD, and I really want to play it. Problem, I'm running under windows XP.
I tried downloading dosbox and activate the game there, it works, but the sound is really laggy and when I hit enter the game skips the opening, enters the main menu, and then I can't do anything... Not browse thourhg the menu nor activating the buttons...

Ah, it seems that for some reason it detects a joystick, I have no joystick connected to my computer.
The dosbox console said: Using joystick Microsoft pc-joysitck or somthing like that. I searched teh config and found no joystick in there.
