say i want to make a game in vb like say zelda on the gameboy that top down styled approach. to make this a decent game would i have to make some kind of engine? would i have to base the game on a tiles?

You can make an engine, use someone else's engine, or just do a whole lot of coding within VB itself, AFAIK.

It'd be a lot easier to this kind of thing in megazeux. There you can make just about anything you want. Providing you are willing to put in the effort to learn the progamming language.

u can either use a game programming language, or a game making program. Now I use Game Maker(It's a game making program), cause u can just about make any kind of game.
