DOS Games Discussion

I am trying to make Heretic (I) work properly under XP. It sort of works, but speeds up and then slows to a crawl seemingly randomy. Surprisingly the sound is mostly ok. Anyone know what the problem is here ?

could NOT get this working

I just remembered about ZDoom... it makes it playable, even better actually. one thing i remember from trying ZDoom last year or year before with doom2, was that there were network issues including crashes, and loss of mouse... has anyone else tried heretic with ZDoom in multiplayer and had some success ? One thing i did try was adding a bot, but it gave an error
