Ah, dang. 3 am
My eyes hurt... Go away already... bye... BYE!!!
I was starting fall asleep waiting for my computer to shut down. Another night of
pointless chatter. Finally I can go to bed.
My brain was asleep before I even hit my pillow. I couldn't tell how long I was asleep.
I opened my eyes expecting another day, but it was not so. To my waking sight I beheld a
starry night. I lowered my eye from the heavens to notice I was standing in a graveyard.
There was no moon that my eyes could perceive. This one tombstone caught my eye, and
wouldn't let it go. A jet black tombstone. I didn't feel my feet hitting the ground,
but I was moving towards it. Unbidden my hands reached out, and pushed the tombstone
back. Revealing an empty grave, only empty of the casket. Down in this pit. There was an
old man by this flame. Again my sight was stolen, the flame captured it. I don't know
how, but I wanted to become one with this flame. My vision was gone, save the flame.
Close I came. The old man started speaking, but it was just a whisper in my ear. The
man's voice became louder and faster as I came, yet closer. I could feel myself becoming
one with this flame. A new thought burnt through me like icy steel. Though
unintelligible to my ears. It drew my gave from the flame. There standing behind me was
a bright light. As my eyes adjusted to this light. I noticed it was in the shape of a
human. Man or woman I could not tell. It held my glance for only a second. Then the
flame entered into my mind. Searing my mind, I was drawn back to that flame. The old
man's voice was now a waterfall. That flame was the most desirable thing to me, almost
as much as that light. Oh my God. The light, searing mind and body; I turned. The old
man's voice is a rapid. The light is brighter now. Its arms reach out for me, but the
flame is eating at me. Two forces in my mind. They fought each other. I fell to my
knees. My head was splitting. I can't take it! My brain found my feet. I told them to
run, and they obeyed. Soon too my vision came. A lake, with a top of glass. I jumped for
the lake. My body burned with the fight. As I jumped for the lake. My consciousness
started to slip. Rupturing the glass as I fell in. I felt the fight leaving my body.
Sweet relief I found in death. Losing my last grip on life. I looked up, the lake had
returned to glass. Forgetting I was ever there.
I didn't jump when I came to. I just sat up, with this dream burned onto my memory.
Here I am again. Typing late at night. The dream almost forgotten. 1:30 am
Just another day.
