request for help with DOS games audio with W98SE

I'd like to know how to:

1. Using W98SE, get audio (sound effects & music) to work with DOOM II & Stak Trek Anniversary running them from basic DOS (booting computer to DOS instead of Windows). I've read about similar difficulties with WXP & will try adding a 'SET=SOUNDBLASTER' line to AUTOEXEC.BAT - if anyone knows exactly what I should do to link to the soundcard booting to DOS (it obviously doesn't now, as both these games work fine in DOS except for the audio.

2. Running these games from within a W98SE DOS window, get music to work with Star Trek & keep from losing music or sound effects or both with DOOM II. Most times with DOOM II, if I pause the game or do a quick save, the music or sound effects or both don't work when resuming. I feel this is probably a memory allotment problem, although looking at the Property memory tab didn't seem to indicate anything out of the ordinary.

Both these games work fine on my 486, but I have downloaded several DOOM II '.wads' that are too large to transfer to the 486 via diskette - my current only way of moving files between machines - & the 486 is not internet-capable to allow downloading the '.wads' to it.

If you are willing & able to help in any way, please let me know at mennykimmoons@cashette.com.

Shine on...!!!

Amen, man.

But please, post the ideas here, too. I need help with my games, too.

Concider saving up for a network card and network the other computer to it (even a burner)
