Can you use keyboard in "Flashback"

Flashback seems to only work with a joystick, which I don't have. I've tried every button on the keyboard but nuffing happens. But I used to have this game and I remember playing it, WITHOUT A JOYSTICK. Any one know how to change it to keyboard.
