Top down view adventure game on DS

I used to play this game on either 3DS or DS. All I remember about it was that the controlled character goes up to the top of a hill and finds out he can like traverse this platform area above the city/town he lives in. There are fighting elements if I'm not wrong, not sure whether turn based or not but I assume it is. I really can't remember much about it other than this. I used to play this around 2012-2014? Game probably released before then tho, because the games like Pokemon Black and White, Ben 10 Alien Force, and Winx Club Quest for Codex.
