90s 2D game [Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion]
Help locating old / Pre year 2000 games you used to play.
90s 2D game [Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion]
I'm looking for a game from late 90s-early 2000s. I remember it was on a floppy disc and it was names "1.exe". It's 2D and view on the side (like old doom) but you forst enter a house (had to do something to open the door) and then there are platforms you could jump to get up. I think you could shoot as well and there was a door on the very top which after you entered, the game ended because it was demo or something. I remember some bright red colors.

Sound like it could be one of Commander Keen games. Does this one look like it?

Thank you for the suggestion! I looked through these games and it unfortunately it doesn't look like the one I'm looking for. As am additional detail, I remember the house was from brick and it had a long green/whote vine across the outside wall of the house

Thank you for the suggestion! Unfortunately, it's not this game. The game I remember was in daylight (at least first mission). And the house you can see is on the right side of the screeen and it's super big, so when you enter it it's tall.
I think the main character has like a rifle.

It's very similar in terms of what i remember except that game in the beginning had a very different background and style. It was more like day sky in the background and you start outside a house and have to enter it and get to the door on the top platforms by jumping up. UI might've looked similar

It could of been duke nukem (the original one) as the main character has a gun that you can use to shoot enemies, the game also has platforming mechanics similar to other games from the era.

Let's try some other guesses, like Cukeland Adventure or Jason Storm in Space Chase?
Or, you could look through platform game lists, such as:
