DOS Games Discussion

Hi I'm trying to find a game that I remember playing when I was young but I do not remember the name. It was based on a desert setting. I think it was sort of middle eastern style. I remember going out into desert and riding mounts that I think were small two legged dinosaurs with saddles. I remember fighting things in the desert and gaining money I think the money were called rupals. I can't remember. I played on a pc. I'm fairly certain the game was of the 1980s. Not certain. I can't remember whether it was text based or not but I thought so.

So what kind of game was it? Role-playing, Text adventure or Strategy game?
No graphics at all or still images?

Definitely images. Maybe 64bit or earlier. I thought it was type in action like kings quest but I can't remember. I think there was a way to gamble. But what I remember is described. Sorry if I used the wrong terms.
