Old school 2000-2010 sci fi game

okay so, the game im looking for is a game that i cant find anywhere i used to have a cd of this game but cant find it so its long gone so i hope i can find some help in here, so here are the details:

its an old game, sci-fi its sort of a war game where you are the main character, its a single player obviously, you get that sort of robot huge huge mech robot and by huge i mean really the small people are like ants and tanks and everything that is on enemy team is small you also have a team and you need to protect them, its a level based game and with further you get into the levels the more weapons you unlock plasma like the mech shaped like a spider a sky blue shaped mech spider, you can turn into a jet that can fly you can turn into land walking mech the seat the front of the mech is pretty original the window glass that you look through from the outside shaped like a V

i dont know if its enough info but i really do hope it is.

Supreme commander looks like it has some big mechs, not sure about flying.
Perhaps it's not putting you in the mech itself, instead an overview of the battle from outside.
