8-bit Colosseum-like Boss Fight Game [Planet Monsters]

I played it on Windows in the early 2000.
It was like an arcade/adventure game with 2D 8-bit graphics.
The genre I'm not so sure, but it was like those Kirby mini-games where you fight all the bosses one after the other. The Colosseum mini-games.
Sometimes I played with my brother so it must have had multiplayer/2-player too.
The menu/map was floating islands that were connected by rainbow bridges that only appeared once you defeated the boss in each island.
Defeat one boss, bridge appears to go to the next one, etc.
The bosses, as far as I remember, were all giant robot animals.
Once in you go straight to the battle:
The battles were in diagonal down perspective (or maybe top down, like the original Zelda).
It was third person but I can't remember what the player looked like.
Each boss had a theme, like the islands (ice, grass, fire, etc).
The only boss I remember was this gigantic robot penguin that you had to defeat by pushing the ice blocks from the stage to throw them at it.
Around the stage, during the battle, different weapons appeared to use them to either shoot/attack the boss or the minions that tried to stop you. The minions were always tiny versions of the bosses.
The bosses had 2 or 3 stages before defeating them.
And the boss was always at the top of the stage while you had to run around in this square stage made out of square tile floors to avoid attacks and find weapons.
