can't get this shit to work HELP

SOMEONE HELP PLEASE

trying to run scorched earth, keep getting this message.

C:\unzipped\scorch15\SCORCH.PIF
Invalid startup directory, please check your pif file. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
Please email me someone!!!!

Will someone please email me this game, that works!!

try running exe,com or bat files instead

Simple solution: Delete the SCORCH.PIF file. (It may show up in Windows Explorer as just "SCORCH" with an MS-DOS icon beside it.) The game will work fine. I'm not sure why that file is even incuded in the zip. I'm going to upload a new zip to the dosgames server to correct this problem, cuz I'm sure other people will have it too ...

PS. In my own defense, the game description, it does say: "PLEASE NOTE, there is a file in the archive called "SCORCH.PIF" (it will usually show up in Windows Explorer as just "SCORCH" with an MSDOS icon "Shortcut to MSDOS Program" as the description) if the game doesn't work DELETE this file. Do NOT delete SCORCH.EXE!

I downloaded a game from laughinggames and the game does not work and it wont delete i keep saying program is in use by person or program
