PC game, complete tasks, find jewels (?)

I was looking through games when I came across a game called Fearful Symmetry and the Cursed Prince. When I clicked on this, the begining music between 6 and 11 seconds instantly reminded me of a game I used to play in middle/high school. The song sounded very similar but for the life of me cannot remember the name.
What I remember about the game is I believe there were tasks and maybe a scroll showing me a quest or something I had to do.that were given to me. I cannot remember if I had to save someone or something I just know that there was always something I had to do. I want to say digging or mining was involved.
I want to say this was a PC game. I dont think it was a PS2 game.

I think I remember a wizard character, or an old wise man. Maybe I found jewels.

I am completely sorry that I dont have a lot of info. If you can please help me remember the game.
