I´m trying to run Cybergenic Ranger through DosBox and under Windows XP but both of them are doing the same weird thing. At the Intro sequence, the screens remais black, but the game seems to work correctly (you can hear the RealSound track working fine) and after that, the main menu appears, and the game works ok from this point to the end. Anybody know what´s going on?

With some of the dosbox games it does this

for example
Tyrania or what ever

Try running it with VDMS

If it runs correctly from after the menu shows up I'd guess it's just loading or switching your resolution. Are you having any sound-based problems?

Tyrania or what ever
I usually try not to incorperate Travis Lewis X quotes into my posts but:

I kinda remember him... too bad he left us. BTW: by 'Tyrania' do you mean 'Tyrian'?

What is VDMS?? Where can I download it from?? Sorry for asking but it´s because I´m a newbie here!! :shame:

About sound problems - No. The RealSound used in this game plays perfectly.

Thanks.

VDMSound is a Soundblaster Emulator for NT/2000/XP machines. You can download it from
The DOSgames.com Essential Utilities Page
.

Sorry, I made a mistake. The game starts with NO SOUND AT ALL. It´s because it uses a method called REAL SOUND for sound output, that is fully unsupported by all Windows versions, including my XP!! Is there anyone getting realsound working under WinXP???
