DOS Games Discussion

When i was younger, say, 5, i used to play tyrian everyday.i just found it on this site and have donwloaded it, i have unzipped it, and when i goto open it, a small window comes up, completely blank, and then immediately closes.
can anyone help me?

what OS are you using? If XP, I still can't see much of a problem because I've played it a few times on XP w/ no problem at all.

Probably a runtime error. Try running the game on a slower computer (if you can find one around).

Or, if you have Windows 95 or 98, try shutting down into DOS mode, then run the game.

im using XP, ive tried rebooting, reinstalling and everything..... -_- i have got an old computer around, ill try saving it zipped onto a floppy, if that doesnt work... ill post back or something.

Ok the old Cpu doesnt work, its an old windows 98 pentium 2. it wont start up, i have to fix the floppy drive...
so any other ideas on why tyrian isnt working?
