A very metroid-like game that i played around 2000s

I played this game during the 2000s and definitely before 2010.

I played it on a Windows 95/98/2000, not sure which.

The game is very much like metroid.
-side scroller shooter, perhaps sci-fi
-the character is gray in colour (i think)
-it has doors that you shoot with specific weapon in order to open
-you can turn into a ball to go to tight places
-it has grappling hook to swing around

I see it now that the game is very much like metroid, but yet I played it on PC Windows 95/98/2000.
