PLEASE if someone can help, I would be eternally grateful!!
I believe it's a DOS game (small chance of win95).
It is likely from the 1990's but I have NO idea when in the 90s.
First person view, point-and-click adventure.
The title screen was simple and had an evil looking dragon on it, if I recall correctly.
I believe you go through the game talking to animals (mice, etc.) and possibly dragons to help you escape, along with solving puzzles and clicking secret areas on the image. (The cursor would change into arrows and such when hovering over a key area)
For the gameplay, my recollection is vague but:
You start in a dungeon, and there's a crack on the wall, and a skeleton in the corner chained to the wall. There's a torch that is a lever if you click it! A tunnel appear and you escape your prison to the next screen.
The next screen, you are in a hallway, and there is a strange message on the wall you must decipher.
It gets foggy from there, but here are some other scenes I remember:
-A scene of a wooden-floored room with a crab or lobster you can talk to.
-A couple scenes of an underground minecart track, and one of a wall of diamonds, one of which you can click for a clue.
-A scene of a control room, in which there are colored buttons and levers, and you must get the series correct in order to unlock the staircase to progress.
That's all I got. I hope it's enough. I'll be checking this frequently, as I've spent the last few hours trying to search for this game!!
Thank you!!!

That would be "The Palace of Deceit: The Dragon's Plight" by Cliff Bleszinski, released in 1992. Not too sure if I may provide a link here, but a simple Google search would reveal the archive.org website where the game is playable in the browser. There's a download too, so knock yourself out.
It is a Windows game, after all, so I recommend Windows 3.1 running in DOSBox to play it, or even Windows 95, if you manage to get it running.

Happy to help! If you want to take it further, you could request the 'manual' mentioned in the Trivia section, at the bottom of the MobyGames entry. The author is alive and well, and seemingly quite active on Twitter. Shouldn't have a problem contacting him, unlike authors' of other shareware titles
