Duke Nukem 3D on win 2000 can't run

hey there my old comp specs

Windows 2000
P3 500mhz
Ati Rage card
64mb ram

I'm trying to run duke nukem but when I run the exe the dos window pops up and then it closes but doesn't run the game, any ideas?

hmmmm, sounds like a software clash or missing files...where did you get the game??

From IRC but I worked something out it, I had to disable my sound card then it runs but it kinda sucks without any sound :/ anyway to make it work with sound?

Might help if you (and we) knew more about the problem... Either edit your pif-file (don't have first hand 2k experience, but assume it works much the same) to not close on exit, or open a command shell, move to whereever your game is and run it from there. You'll most likely get some more or less helpful information about why the game doesn't run.

go to start>run
then type command

go to the path your game is in
execute it


and see what message you get

if you get a runtime error you can get moslo from www.wally4000dosonline.tk or in utilities section of dosgames forums :)
