Old Game...does this sound/look familiar to anyone?

Looking for this game. I can't remember the name of it. It was from the 80s and it was a text game. The storyline was that you were in a cave, I think. Anyway, the object was to stay alive, get treasure and escape. You started out with a dog that looked like this = "d". He would follow you around and help protect you. If he ate food, or you gave him tripe to eat, after a while he would become a big dog and would look like this = "D". You could also get different wands, armor, weapons as well as potions to fend off a host of animals\creatures that were trying to kill you.
Below is what a typical screen would look like in the game(the "@" is your character and the d is the dog, a "." is just empty space in the room and I believe a # is a door, but I could be wrong has I haven't played the game in well over 10 years):
