Game from the 90's [=Eternam]

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a game I had on a DOS Game compilation CD I had in the mid 90's.

Parts of the game were in first person mode where you were on some kind of island. You could shoot some kind of laser that looked like an arrow (^) when you fired it. If you walked up to the ocean a giant hand popped out of the water and drained your health.

When you entered buildings on the island (I recall one being a medieval style castle) the game changed to a third person perspective. All I can remember about the appearance of the character is that I think he had a red cape and armor on.

Due to other games I remember being on the CD I believe it may have been an Apogee collection. I also think the name of the game began with an 'E'.

Thanks for the help.

Hmm, maybe Ecstatica or Ecstatica II? Your description doesn't seem to match any game released by Apogee.

No not Ecstatica, the graphics are of poorer quality than that, not 3D, I remember the first person parts being very simple graphics, flat landscape. The game may not be by Apogee its just all others games I remember from the CD were by Apogee.

Do you remember if first-person movement was smooth or grid-based (as in may early 90s RPGs)?

An adventure by Infogrames, a curious 1st/3rd person mix.
