What is this angels vs demons game?

I remember my brother getting a demo copy of this game sometime between 1996-2003. It may have been released a bit before or after that. I highly doubt that though.
I'm unsure as to the genre of this game. I believe it to be a real-time strategy, but it could easily be a turn-based strategy or even an adventure game... I'm still pretty sure it's an RTS.

- Top down view
- About Angels Vs. Demons/Heaven Vs. Hell
- Angels are somewhat reminiscent of the angels from the Diablo franchise by Blizzard (You know glow-y and all that)
- Most of the game world (if not all) is floating rocks, which angelic/demonic structures could be placed upon
- Unsure as to whether it is sprites or 3d, if I had to take a gander I believe it to be 2d
- Art style of the game is somewhat darker... if memory serves...

I wish I had more information. I've been trying find this game for a couple years now by myself and I've finally decided to ask for help.

No, the graphics of the game were more 'realistic' than that. I believe the game I'm thinking of also had higher quality graphics. perhaps it is from a later year. Thank you though.

Could it be Black & White.. You can throw rocks and pickup trees but you get the angel / devilish critter as well

No, Black & White is definitely not it. I appreciate you trying though.

This is probably not Dungeon Keeper but you could take a look anyway.

NetStorm has floating islands but that's probably the only thing that matches your description there.

The Populous series could have some elements you're looking for, like the celestial conflict.

I guess Sacrifice could fit your request to an extent if it were not for the third-person behind the back perspective.

There's also a game called Mythical Warriors what has mythical creatures as the name suggests.

Take a look at Heaven & Hell, it's sort of like Populous or Black & White, and no floating islands as it seems, but the title is kind of close to your search :)

The whole good vs evil conflict reminded me of the coverart for Spellforce, although I have no idea how close the gameplay is to what you were looking for.

Bit farfetched but any ideas of a name? First Letters?

What windows version were you running at the time?
Floppy Disks or CDs?
Any idea of the company who made it? Splash screens might be the most memorable thing of the game.

Hmm, I got it on a demo CD with a bunch of other games. I think one of the other games was Metal Fatigue.

This reminds me of Disciples II: The Dark Prophecy.
Turn based strategy, dark atmosphere, not exactly floating rocks but you can get the imagination of it in battle screen, angels and demons.

Yo not cool don't delete my post as it is perfectly valid.

The game he is talking about sounds like Heroes III to me.
