I uploaded now a game to http://games.freebasic.net - soon i hope it will appear there
The downloadable file is at http://nitrofurano.altervista.org/freeb ... 191040.zip
It were based on a type-in game for zx-spectrum made 30 years ago.
It was compiled and tested on DosBox
I used "screen 8" for providing that look and feel like from pc88 and sharp-x1 games, and some dos games converted from there (like Silpheed or Thexder)
some screenshots (click to enlarge):
of course this is a very humble attempt, but i'm really curious about seeing more people coding dos games as well!
new DOS game made on FreeBasic
Gonna give it a try later ...... later ......
BTW, you're not very innovative, are you? But that's how to learn coding I guess.

yes, it's my very first approach on DOS game development, and on FreeBasic development as well - i hope the next ones will be more innovative, but it will be in small stepsdosraider wrote:Gonna give it a try later ...... later ......

it were mostly an experience, and try to see if more people can still code stuff for DOS, and better stuff than me, for keeping the DOS retro development alive!

You should take a look@ your browser settings, something is wrong there.

Also, to allow emmzee to (eventually) avoid such restrictions:How to fix this: One of these may fix this problem:
Don't right click and "Save As...". Just left click on the download link.
Turn off any download managers like GetRight, FlashGet or Download Accelerator.
Temporarily disable internet firewall software, especially Norton Security Suite. (These often unnecessarily block the "referrer" attribute in web browsers which causes download problems.)
If you are using a non-standard browser (such as the AOL web browser or Lynx) please try using Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox or Opera instead.
Please hit your BACK button and try the suggestions above. Thank you for your patience!
If none of those work, let me know (and please list your operating system, web browser, and any internet utilities you're running) and I'll be glad to send you the game(s) via email attachment, or I can try to find another location where you can download the game. Thanks, bye!

Did some try runs, runs fine in VPC2007/FreeDos.
Minor remark: had to slow down VPC, you need to add machine speed check and to regulate game speed according to machine specs.
Without slowing down VPC (and I mean a lot of slowing down) I ran out of oil in less than 3 (yes:3) secs. Not playable that way.
Otherwise, well done, was fun to run a variant of this game once again.
