Now that my Tandy 100 HX with monitor are on the way (should be here tomorrow) I want to know what the best TGA/CGA games were.
I started with PC's at the 286 era when VGA was firmly a standard so besides a bunch of sierra and SSI gold boxed games I have no idea what else was good in the days before VGA.

I was looking for games that were designed for TGA before VGA was around. The machine I have has 256k memory which is enough for those older classics (machine only reads 3.5" DD disks).
I got wasteland from a abandonware site as this is listed as a top old game.

Way back when the PCjr was out (early 1980's) it had special sound and video modes. The tandy 1000 was a radioshack version of the PCjr but with better keyboard and came out 2 weeks after IBM killed the Jr.
The video and audio modes of the 1000 match the special PC jr modes (alot better then CGA but not quite EGA graphics. The very early games supported this resolution and called it Tandy mode since the PC Jr was long dead.

Go to this site and scroll down to see the difference it makes.
So untill VGA came out in the late 80's this was the best system for games and had quite a few companies supporting it. VGA cards cant emulate this mode if your wondering.
I was looking for games that support TGA (tandy graphics mode, same as pcjr)
I know this is before you guys were born lol
