Centipede even too fast on old DOS box

Post by mcpatrick »

Hi,

As a surprise to my wife (we're both kids of the 80's) I dusted of my old 386 SX and brought it down from the attic. Run right away of course (good old DOS).
I downloaded what seemed to be the original version of Centipede, the game my wife played a lot when she was a teenager, but it runs way too fast. I did read the FAQ where it shows how to slow down DOS games, but why is this neccesary on my old DOS box? Should't the games run just fine there without extra help?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Look for a "Turbo" button on your computer case. Some old pc's had those and it made the proccessor run twice as fast.

Original centepede? I doubt it. Original centepede was on punch cards.
