http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100124/ap_ ... earthquake

I created this thread in the memory and moment of silence for the victims of one of the most terrible natural disasters that ever hit this world and claimed the lives of what could now be more than 200,000 innocent men, women, and children of Haiti.

RIP

Thank you very much for making this thread. The situation at Haiti is really indeed sad.

The humanitarian arm of the organization I work for, Power to Change, has been in Haiti since the earthquake hit. They have several videos available on their website (Global Aid Network, aka GAiN) here:
http://globalaid.net/2010/01/haiti-media/

So far they have sent (last I heard) twelve containers, each carrying $100,000 worth of emergency supplies. An email update we got on Friday said that "Yesterday alone, GAiN staff distributed 21,600 servings of food in Port-Au-Prince." Anyone interested in helping can contribute at the following link (P2C is a registered charity, tax-deductible):

This is very sad, indeed. Certainly well deserving of a moment of silence. :(

Good to see that help is getting through.
