This game is really old think it was DOS but could have been apple....you tried to sell opium and stuff while fight on ships in the oceans of Asia....it was black and white and pretty simple might have shanghai or taiwan in the title not sure though....you were trying to build up a fortune and an armada while sailing around...kinda reminds me of how drugwars is set up...thanks for the help....
If the game was for Apple II, I think the name is "Taipan" but then again I could be wrong because it was ages since I last played it.

Try basalisk it is a macintosh emulator for apple. apple II and also Classic macintosh.
You will need system software which you can obtain from apple free of charge (thats if you are going to use classic macitosh)
And you will need a ROm to run it
