Hackers=the best movie EVER!

Post by wardrich »

Its some super nerdy movie released in 1995 about a group of hackers who end up getting framed by some big corperation. It features Matthew Lillard, and Angelina Jolie (amongst a lot of others). It does have some screwups in it, like the computer hacking that they do looks REALLY easy, and is also really not correct looking, which makes it look futureistic. I think the movie is supposed to be set in the future, but for some reason they are all using these big lunker laptops with a 28.8k modem in them... nevertheless, if you EVER see Hackers for sale, BUY IT!!

I think the main reason as to why i love this movie so much, is because the whole movie is me (or at least how i wish i could be). I wanna die my hair blue, and become one of those futureistic Cyberpunks. That would be super-mega ultimately 1337. I wish i could be some kinda computer-freak deviant or summin, much like the group of ha><0rs in the movie.

I've found some sites about this movie....

I have hackers. Bought it for about 6 dollars. Personally I didn't think it was all that great. Even so, theres a sequeal called hackers 2. It's much more realistic, and in my opinion, much better. It isn't really a sequeal so much as a completley diffirent story. It's based on a real hacking incident. If you liked the first one though, you should check out this.[/u]

The one site says it's rated PG-13 for Brief Strong Language and some sexual content. Swearing doesn't really bother me, but how bad is the sexual stuff in it?
"You believe me," I said gratefully.
"Of course I do," and he held out his hand. "I believe everything out of the common. The only thing to distrust is the normal."

That's PG-13 by American standards I think, which are much more strict than Canadian, so it probably would be R if it's anything really bad... probably just kissing plus a scene that shows the two in bed...

Thanks for the answer, DB, it would be nice to get an exact answer, though. American ratings are a lot stricter than Canadian. I find American ratings much more reliable, and I'm getting a little bit ticked that now, many videos in Canada are having only the Canadian rating put on them :Angry: .

Canadian || American
AA || R
14A || PG13
8A? || None
PG || PG
G || G

Whats not to get? Thats compairs them. Although, we do allow some stuff to still be in 14a. Scary Movie (The screem spoof) was 14a here while it was R in the US. IMO.

Most R rated US are rated 14A Canada, and PG13 here PG there.

I guess you haven't read the Entertainment section of your local Canadian paper lately, or gone to the movies for that matter, Kazer.

Recently, Canada got a new system of ratings.

In order of bad content, they are:

R
18A
14A
PG
G

To answer homz with a correct answer. It has a strong kissing scene , a bed scene , no explicent content and like one more bed scene. I didn't find the need to have a sex scene in this movie.....

So, by Australian standards, M rated? That includes movies like Matrix, The Hulk, Independance Day and LOTR.

Wow, does M stand for Mature? That means that Independence day and LOTR were for Mature audiences only??

Probably when the ratings were created or something. Or they just picked a random word starting with M.
