seeking an dos space adventure game.
If I remember right, this game was a text input puzzle/adventure game. There was a small window that displayed your surroundings in SVGA (which was amazing to have at the time.) It starts off with you being a newbie on some space station. you have to do a few favors for someone in order to get his blue (upgraded) ID card. This card allows you more freedom around the station. at some point you get to go on the shuttle and explore planets. It's all turn based and pretty linear. This game came out in the early 90s. Can't remember the name.
Spaceward? Doubtfull.
But ya never know here @DGF.

not spaceward
This game had no animation. It was kind of like deja vu, where an action could change the picture or take you to a new one. I remember a few peices of the game. At one point you get a gun by smuggling it out of the weapons storage by calling a cleaning robot through the ventilation shaft that connects to your room. On one planet you meet some old man who's been there a while. He steers a shotty raft for you while you bail water to keep it from sinking. On one planet, you discover an alien race or long lost alien city and get rewarded heavily for it.
I'm immediately reminded of Frederik Pohl's Gateway, based on the book by the same name. It was a great game from what I can recall, not sure if it fits the bill here though.
I think it had a sequel too.
