Kidpix

Post by dosraider »

Several of you amazed me, you seem to know that old draw program Kidpix.

I still have it, original floppy's, bought it long ago for my children, my grandchildren still use and enjoy it plenty on my ol'W3.11 compy.
Now I've tested it on my XP and see, it works flawless.
It also worked fine on my W98SE comp.

I can't find a site that still sells this gem, so here it is for those who wants to give it a go or for ol'times sake.
If you have younger bro's or sisters they gonna love it, really.

http://rapidshare.com/files/35829742/kidpix.zip.html

Simply unzip in a dir and run setup.

When you use the stamps, try to use ctrl and ctrl+alt with them.

This is version 1.0, not the newer deluxe version 4.

[EDIT]
With the stamps use CTRL and CTRL+SHIFT, not CTRL+ALT.

[EDIT²]
If someone would want the 3 original Kidpix -(old version 1.0)- floppies:
http://rapidshare.com/files/72411431/ki ... s.zip.html
Download size 1.7 MB.
You need 3x 720 KB flops, in the zip are 3 selfextracting floppy images.

Now, I for one, never used it, and I'm more of a Photoshop person

But I'm open to new stuff(ok... OLD stuff) so...

Umm yeah, checked it(and obviously forgot to click Submit 5 minutes ago :P )

It's fun, and I'm sure my cousin would love it!

Thanks Dosraider!

That's weird, had no probs on my XP, I'm on a 19"CRT. Seems your monitor has a problem to switch back. Are you on a TFT screen maybe ?

Maybe you should set the comp tab to W95 and 256 colors.
*EDIT
Nevermind, have read your UPDATE now lolz.

ahhhhhh, i forgot about that prog, i havent seen it since primary school
One time I had a Jack and coke and it had a lime in it, And I saw that the lime was floating. That's good news man. Next time I'm on a boat and it capsizes, I'll reach for a lime... I'll be water skiing without a life preserver and people'll say 'What the hell?' and I'll pull out a lime...and a lemon too. I'm saved by the buoyancy of citrus.

You need a floppydrive to use those.

And guess what, it's for Mac.

Probably the French versions, as my Mac was French.
[EDIT]
Was 7.x or 9.x .. don't know if it runs on MacX.

[EDIT²]
Now that I think' bout it, must have Kidpix for Mac also .... somewhere....
And a whole bucket of ol'Mac applics and games too.

Creative Writer! Now that was an amazing program... I spent many hours playing with it. Ended up doing a fair bit of writing, too, but I've never seen anything else that made writing so much fun. Definitely not Creative Writer 2.
