I don't know what you're up to BRO.

But I'm telling you what I think I *might* have gotten some bugs.

There's a directory that says "DELME" and I played it.

It crashed on me????????????

So I'm sending you presents forever when I get to find some money on me.

Anyways, first Thank you God my files seem intact especially mom#!!

Then honours to dad Nguyen Binh Thuy, and mom Huong Thi Vu!

Well, Quadko you have the green light so far.

I'm not good enough in programming to use any of the BGI stuffs yet.

I've still over five grand of books to read for programming Borland.

Actually that is 5000 pages not 5 grand. hehe

My old friend doesn't like jokes so I'm sorry about that.

It's a good habit in certain instances.

Jesus Christ!

Well Quadko you know by now I'm a baptized non-denominational Christian.

Unless it was a dream

Anyways I've just recently saved the BGI zip and unzipped one on CD-R.

Thank you#!!

So many times in my life, well a few times

I rarely get the chance to say Thanks a bunch and mean it.

Anyways, I pray I get the chance to develop some more games and such.

I'm tapped out of ideas.

However I'll try to see if anything comes up I could program.

I was trying the Time1973 game of mine however I got tired.

Besides I'm bored.

Did you know I went to an Ivy League College for an examination semester!

It is true I went and passed the entrance exam.

However I got bored and quit.

So usually people quit because they have other interests.

Jesus Christ!

Don't get me wrong.

I'm still here programming 12 days a week like the apostles of Jesus Christ#!!

There are times when my programs are small and simple.

Other times they may hopefully usually develop into something substantial.

Yes, they are old archives, and that 'DELME' directory is just a directory from some bulk conversion from old archive format (.SEA? .LHA? .ARJ?) up to Zip at some point. I think they went through multiple transitions over the years. Maybe part of my project uploading these should be cleaning up such artifacts, yes? We'll see.

But hopefully the dos programs will run in DosBox or on a real DOS machine. Hm, there is that common Turbo Pascal "machine is too fast so crash with divide by zero" bug, so possibly a Borland tool would have that. If the apps do crash, you might try running them in DosBox at slower speed/fewer cycles (1000? 500?). I can take a look sometime if you tell me what crashes.

And C code from BBS/internet often needs tweaking to your compiler, so if there are small errors in this or that code... probably just a compiler difference. But the ones from Borland hopefully work with Borland Turbo C!

Once again thank you. I do not usually post without thinking. I do get complaints at time that I am slow. However I like The Holy Bible proverbs: "Do not be hasty and miss the way."

So if I am fortunate, God bless those who want it 100 years total of living through Jesus Christ!

Jesus!

I don't recommend breaking the law.

However when you are a kid you download things without knowing status.

I like the ATI BGI driver.

That was interesting.

I didn't know Borland had one for ATI.

Great stuffs.

You know the 8088 machine? I didn't realize it had ATI card for it back then.

I'm even sprite a helicopter is able to fly in 1973.

I'm a dork hehe

Don't try this at homes kids. hehe

Anyways the controls are: A for left, D for right, W to move straight hehe

When you press the period key the block drops.

Then when you swoop down with the robot helicopter it moves the block.

Enjoy matey. hehe

Upon dropping the crate it left a partial crate sprite on the screen, but the crate itself got stuck somewhere under the chopper and moved with it.

Jesus!

hehe

Thanks for the feedback MrFlibble.

I really was drunk after drinking 12oz beer.

I didn't concentrate too much on it.

I didn't even test it out too much except on XP.

I thought it worked from my initial test.

However I know DOSBox functions a little different than XP DOS prompt.

My first test dropped the crate all the way down a certain level.

Then when you swooped down to pick it up it should hang underneath.

Something like a robo helicopter holding onto a crate with a thin steel rope.

The crate should follow you only after you dropped it and picked it up.

The partial sprite is a little sloppy on my part.

Almost all of my releases are done right away to get something out publicly.

I figure I can refine it through the week.

However I did needed that feedback so I know what to do.

Also, I'm working on a few bufferring routines so it is being tested so far.

Besides Borland Turbo C 2.01 and Borland Turbo Assembler 4.1 is casual.

Those two languages I ALWAYS use are for public domain releases.

If I used Borland C++ 2.0 I would not be able to release the full source code.

I would have to give Borland any of my proceeds because of copyright.

However with C2.01 and TASM4.1 you develop your own code mostly.

90% to 100% of my C2.01 and TASM4.1 are my own codes.

Borland C++ 2.0 just has a non-disclosure statement.

They require royalty I guess.

If no royalty then no release of the source code.

This is just a twirling letters demo.

Post by tienkhoanguyen »

Every time you press a key the letters twirl and the helicopter spins a bit.

I figure I'm starting a new life so I signed up with a new account. I've moved into a new home since last. Last I was in a run down apartment. Now I am in a remodelled home. It's still me however I'm concentrating more on friends. I don't think I'll do a lot of talking this time though. I've hogged the forum up pretty much last I was here.

I'm in the game programming business for DOS thanks to my mom and dad but especially my mom. Never did I think my mom buying for me the two classic DOS references would be handy. I always admire my mom more for who she is going to church and being a good Catholic rather than for her success like my dad!

Controllers: XBOX360 and PSone

Post by friendsforever »

I was messing with the controller to see if it would be profitable. What I've found is Windows Vista and Windows 10 is different in register values. So it is a problem for the end user and especially the designer to market a game to make it fun for all systems. You have to target your user database specifically.
