I would've expected better from you, though. At least a proxy or something, IP addresses are relatively easy to fake. (Forgive TSM's condescending attitude, btw, he's new)Cakephatt wrote:Uhg... My mom said I was never a good liar.
Anyway, your beeflyonion account has been deactivated, though it'd be nice if you finished your fable in the literature forum. I was really interested.
Ha ha, sure thing. Thank you, I knew I would get caught with the ISP but we just got a modem hook-up and I wasn't too sure if I would get a different ISP each time I logged on to the internet, with a "Smart-Dialer". Obviously I learned something.

A "Smart-Dialer" only has a limited amount of protocols it can access anyway, so depending on your area, it won't do much for sporatic IPs. If I were you'd I'd consider using a professional IP masker when you connect to the internet. You'll want to start with a simple, free to use proxy server (beware adware, though!) to start out, and work your way up as you gain more experience. I don't know too much about more advanced IP masking myself, though you could probably find help elsewhere.
Now obviously there are ways to eventually trace fake IPs, but it takes quite a bit of time and research, and so long as you're careful you could buy yourself quite a bit of time with a good proxy server.

Not true my friend, I have only ever been on this site using my laptop which has always been on broadband and I have posted form 78 IP addresses. Most of which vary quite a bit, you on the other hand have only posted from 33 IP addresses most of which follow a distinctive pattern.Swiftman wrote:Apparently.
I've done this kinda stuff before, multiaccounting. Lemme jsut say, dial up is your best friend for it. Never the same IP twice.
As for the anonymous browsing thing, proxy servers are the way to go, UniPeak is one I know of, it's slightly buggy but it doesn't have many ads.

Either that or you've only ever logged onto and posed this site 33 times, which I find highly unlikely.

It all depends on the range of your server, really. For example, while TSM has 70+ IPs logged, he still posts from a fairly limited protocol, and I can trace his posts easily enough, given 5 mintues to waste. AOL is probably the most universally random ISP, which is one of the reasons AOLers are hated by webmasters. (Though utterly lacking brains is the primary reason)

AND HOW!Dogbreath wrote:(Though utterly lacking brains is the primary reason)
And yeah I do realise my IP does follow a pattern, but it’s not quite as prevalent as Swifts. Oh and you should see my IP logs for another site. It’s over 200 long and impossible to track, though I have posted from various locations on that site.

dosraider fell for it earlier when I tested if you would track everybodies ISP. I did it from two different computers to see if they both had seperate connections and if you would bother tracking new guest's ISP or new member's ISP. I suppose you wouldn't bother with stanley123 but I can see how you would look into it if he was making trouble....
